The Princess of Wales shared the devastating news she has been diagnosed with cancer in an emotional video message which was released on Friday, 22 March.

Kate explained she is undergoing chemotherapy treatment after the cancer was picked up after undergoing planned abdominal surgery.

Sitting on a bench surrounded by daffodils and cherry blossom in the spring sunshine, Kate began her message saying, “I wanted to take this opportunity to say thank you, personally, for all the wonderful messages of support and for your understanding whilst I have been recovering from surgery. “It has been an incredibly tough couple of months for our entire family, but I’ve had a fantastic medical team who have taken great care of me, for which I am so grateful.” It's news that's shocked the nation - with thousands of members of the public taking to Instagram and other social media platforms to send their personal well-wishes.

Among these were a number of messages from celebrities - many of whom have been closely involved with the princess in some of her key passion projects.
