All drivers in Britain have been warned they risk a hefty £1,000 fine if they fail to declare any of a long list of illness to the UK’s Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency (DVLA).

Drivers can face prosecution for failing to declare any illness on the list. There is a list of 112 illnesses, conditions and disabilities that the DVLA must be aware of, ranging from eye issues to vertigo.

The government says you may be prosecuted if you’re involved in an accident as a result of an undeclared illness. It is estimated there are around a million drivers on the road in the UK with a health issue they haven't flagged to the DVLA.
