The cast and crew of the popular period drama will soon be heading back to the Yorkshire Dales to shoot the hit adaptation by BAFTA award-winning production company Playground, based on the best-selling novels of real-life Thirsk vet Alf Wight, who wrote under the pen-name James Herriot.
On Friday, Channel 5 confirmed the double commission of series 5 and 6 - as well as a beloved Christmas special. Plus, much-loved actor Callum Woodhouse will reprise his role as Tristan Farnon.
In the most recent series of the heartwarming period drama, Richard Carmody arrived after Tristan Farnon (Callum Woodhouse) was called up to fight in the war.
