From Miley and Fidelma’s roll in the hay in Glenroe to Bridgerton’s intimate scenes, which would make anyone blush, sex on the telly is nothing new.
What is new, in light of Kate Winslet’s fight to keep ‘unflattering’ sex scenes in Mare of Easttown, is more diversity of bodies and sexual experiences on screen.
Whether it’s a big part of your life, something you wish you had more of or an area you’ve no interest in at all—sex is undoubtedly present in our society.
Thank goodness for that, am I right? The only problem with what we see on screen is, quite often, it’s a very narrow age, sexuality, race, gender and size profile—not to mention how it can look like a flipping acrobatic performance.
