Steven George Gerrard MBE (born 30 May 1980) is an English professional football manager and former player who manages Scottish Premiership club Rangers.
He spent the majority of his playing career as a central midfielder for Liverpool, with most of that time spent as club captain, as well as captaining the England national team. Widely regarded as one of the greatest midfielders of all time,
Gerrard was awarded the UEFA Club Footballer of the Year award in 2005, and the Ballon d'Or Bronze Award. In 2009, Zinedine Zidane and Pelé said that they considered Gerrard to be the best footballer in the world.
Alfredo Morelos did not share in his joy. The Colombia international chucked his gloves to the floor in frustration after being replaced by Jermain Defoe midway through the second half as Rangers moved 11 points clear at the Premiership summit.
Ryan Kent, Kemar Roofe, Scott Arfield and a James Tavernier were all on target ahead as Gerrard's side made it look easy. Morelos was taken off with Thursday's Europa League clash against Benfica in mind.
But he did not look happy to be substituted. "Does he ever?" Gerrard said. "I can't work it out. We're 4-0 up, he's played well, his team-mate is about to come on, we've got a big game on Thursday. "I don't know, you'll have to ask Alfredo why he was a bit sad.
