Alfredo Morelos was at the centre of a transfer scramble as Torino saw a bid knocked back on deadline day, having failed in a move for Josh King.
The Serie A side were keen to bring in another forward to compete with Andrea Belotti, with Simone Zaza struggling last season.
According to The Athletic they made an offer for King on Sunday but the bid was deemed far too low and thrown out by Bournemouth.
That led them to turn their attentions to Morelos, with a loan with option to buy deal totalling around £17million rejected by the Ibrox club.Serie A clubs regularly do deals based on an initial loan in order to spread costs over more than one financial year.It's a practice that is becoming more common in Britain, as evidenced by Rangers' move.
