and feared he could have been dead. Susan Caruana, 68, was reunited with her 17-year-old grandson last weekend after he flew home from France.
He was found on a rural road near Quillan and picked up by a delivery driver. Alex's identity was revealed when he was taken to a police station.
He was reported missing after he went on holiday to Marbella, Spain, with mum Melanie Batty - who was not his legal guardian - and grandfather David Batty in 2017 aged 11.
