Oldham's Alex Batty, who came back to the UK after spending six years as a missing person living on the run in Europe, has revealed details of his life after returning home at the end of 2023.
Including that he does not want either his mum or grandad to get caught by police after he was 'kidnapped'. In an interview, Alex described how 43-year-old mum Melanie and 64-year-old David cannot risk getting in touch with him, out of fear that doing so will reveal their location and result in them facing a probe for an international child abduction.
Speaking to the Sunday Mirror, Alex, 18 on Tuesday, said: “Mum did it out of love. It feels good to be back.” But with these two members of his family still on the run, there will be a pair of empty seats around the table of his 18th birthday celebrations.
Both Melanie and David are still in hiding after Alex's shock return, six years after her was declared missing. Try MEN Premium now for FREE...
