Alec Baldwin was left in tears as the trial over the Rust shooting incident was unexpectedly dropped.The 66 year old actor, known for his role in Married to the Mob, broke down on Friday, 12 July, when the involuntary manslaughter charge against him was dismissed.
This came after a dramatic halt in proceedings when his legal team argued that prosecutors had concealed evidence.The surprise turn of events occurred on Alec's third day of trial in front of a New Mexico jury.
He was accused of involuntary manslaughter following the tragic death of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins, 42, on the set of the neo-Western film Rust in 2021.
If convicted, he could have faced up to 18 months in prison. He had previously released a statement to say his 'heart is broken' over the incident and had pleaded not guilty.
