Alec Baldwin has reached a settlement with Halyna Hutchins family after she was killed on the set of Rust in a terrifying incident in 2021, writes The Mirror.
The cinematographer was shot dead with a prop gun the US actor was using in October 2021, on the New Mexico film set. The film's director Joel Souza was also injured in the incident.
The parties have now reached an undisclosed settlement in a wrongful death lawsuit filed in February against the actor and other defendants, according to a statement released by Baldwin's attorney.
The suit alleged numerous industry safety violations. Baldwin is also among up to four people who may still face criminal charges later this month for the fatal shooting, Santa Fe District Attorney District Attorney Mary Carmack-Altwies said last month.Rust will continue filming in January, with Halyna's widower Matthew Hutchins working as executive producer.
