German discounter Aldi has warned customers will be turned away at the door if they don't comply with coronavirus rules from today.
It comes as the UK struggles to take hold of the current Covid-19 strain, with 1,243 new deaths reported in the past 24 hours.
All customers will be required to wear a mask unless they are medically exempt, the chain said on Tuesday. "For a limited period, customers that forget to bring a mask will be provided with one, free of charge.
Anyone without a medical exemption that refuses to wear a mask is not permitted to enter stores." A spokesman told The Mirror customers are also being urged to shop alone to reduce the number of people in store.
