Aldi is the only supermarket to sell them, but it's well worth tracking them down

There aren't many products that are unique to a particular supermarket these days. With all of them competing for our custom, they're usually going head-to-head with most things.

But it seems Aldi has decided to one-up its rivals on the steak front, becoming the first supermarket to sell a new range of 40-day matured Aberdeen Angus steaks.

There are three to choose from - Rump (£4.49, 227g), Sirloin (£5.69, 227g) and Ribeye (£5.79, 227g). Made with Aberdeen Angus beef that 'make for a rich, indulgent and buttery flavour that melts in the mouth', we couldn't wait to give them a try.

It took three separate stores before we finally got our hands on some, so they're already seemingly in demand. I picked up two of the sirloins for £11.39 and one of Aldi's usual 21-day matured sirloins, priced £3.69, to compare them with.
