Aldi crowned cheapest supermarket in the UK for fifth month running

It's been revealed that Aldi is the cheapest supermarket in the UK.The budget-friendly store was awarded the title for the fifth month in a row, after the latest Which?

price comparison revealed that the average weekly shop would cost the least there.On average, shoppers paid £75.59 for a basket full of 48 items from Aldi last month.

This narrowly beat Lidl's figure, which came in at £77.68, the Mirror reports.Coming in third place was Asda, where the basket of items cost £84.98, followed by Tesco at £86.21.

Those who shopped at Sainsbury's paid £86.36 on average last month, while Morrisons customers forked out £97.72 and Ocado shoppers £93.99.
