Former Blackburn and Newcastle striker Alan Shearer can likely rest easy that his tally of 260 goals will be surpassed by Haaland, but only because the Norwegian has ambitions in other leagues.
His 36 Premier League goals this season were more than anyone has ever managed, and 52 in all competitions helped Pep Guardiola's side to pull off a magnificent Treble.
Haaland only managed one goal in his final eight appearances of the season to give hope to some that he may not be as prolific next season, although that does not tell the story of his contributions to the team in that time.
