Newcastle legend Alan Shearer has disagreed with Gary Neville and Roy Keane's predictions for the Premier League title winner and still reckons Man City will go onto retain their crown. The champions were held to a goalless draw at home against second-placed Arsenal on Sunday, just hours after Liverpool went two points clear at the top with a 2-1 win against Brighton.

Despite the three point gap separating them from the league leaders, Shearer remains confident in Man City's chances. Speaking to BBC Sport, He said: "At the moment it is advantage Liverpool, and Arsenal are not going away, but, with nine games to go, I still see Manchester City as favourites for the Premier League title. "That feeling is not really based on how City are playing right now, though," he added. "And, while their rivals might be in better form, City have the experience to know that the draw with Arsenal was not a disaster.

They were my pick to win the league when it started and I am certainly not going to change my mind now", reports the Mirror.Shearer backs City to clinch their fourth title in a row, but ex-Manchester United's stalwart Roy Keane reckons Liverpool have got what it takes.

He told Sky Sports: "I think Liverpool, I'd have them favourites. Arsenal second favourites with their goal difference. City [third favourites with their injuries and the strain of everything - Champions League coming up."Every time I watch Liverpool, we can look at one or two faults they might have, but they get so many chances every game, they're going to score lots of goals.
