Premier League icon Alan Shearer is over the moon as his daughter Hollie announces her engagement to England rugby star Joe Marchant.The Newcastle United legend's daughter shared the exciting news on social media.

Shearer, 29, announced on Friday that she and Marchant are set to tie the knot.The couple have been together since January 2022 and relocated to Paris after Marchant signed for Stade Francais last year.

Sharing a snap of her stunning diamond ring, Hollie said on Instagram: 'BEST DAY EVER!! (ring emoji) Got to say yes to my favourite person (heart emoji)." All-time Premier League goal scorer Shearer couldn't contain his excitement, responding to Hollie's post with a series of heart-eyes and clapping hands emojis.The former England captain has previously been asked about his daughter's relationship with Marchant and dropped hints about his bond with the rugby star.
