East Kilbride have sent a message of support to stricken Ajax and Manchester United goalkeeping legend Edwin van der Sar after he was hospitalised yesterday with a brain haemorrhage. The 52-year-old started his playing career at Ajax and was director general from 2016 until May this year when he stepped down.It was in 2016 that van der Sar sent a video message to the K-Park club after they beat BSC Glasgow in November, stretching their consecutive win record to 27, beating Ajax's 1971-72 team's previous run of 26.Ajax also sent 27 crates of beer to East Kilbride FC to mark the occasion.Yesterday it emerged that the goalkeeping star - who won many trophies, including the Champions League with Ajax in 1995 and again with Man Utd in 2008 - collapsed while on holiday in Croatia.Ajax issued a statement that read: "Edwin van der Sar has had bleeding around his brain.

He's currently in hospital in the intensive care unit and is in a stable condition.."Once there is more concrete information, an update will follow.
