Airdrie boss Rhys McCabe told his side to control the midfield so they could win the battle and take a point from Falkirk.Callum Smith's 78th-minute strike earned a point from the Falkirk Stadium, cancelling out Kai Kennedy's first-half goal, and McCabe was pleased with his lot overall, and reckons Airdrie could have taken all three, had they capitalised on their chances.Callum Smith had two chances, Lewis Jamieson and Charlie Telfer also found themselves in good positions.But McCabe says it was the midfield strength, which allowed stars like Charlie Telfer and Dean McMaster to get on the ball, that made the difference.He said: "I thought performance-wise in the first half we were a little bit frantic.

I thought we struggled with their rotation and movement in midfield especially."Distances from back to front were a little bit too big and that allowed them spaces and pockets for the likes of Morrison and Kennedy to come in and get in on the half-turn and really cause us some problems."But in that respect we never really conceded chances.

Although they had a lot of the ball, they never really cut us open or created many chances."We said at half-time it was about getting control, especially in the middle of the pitch.
