Hibs are bracing themselves for another injury blow with Aiden McGeady undergoing further scans on his hamstring. The winger limped off in last Saturday’s 2-0 win over Kilmarnock at Easter Road.
Initial examinations have yet to reveal the full extent of the injury and the 36-year-old is to set for another scan with results expected next week.
But Hibs are fearing the worst. Lee Johnson’s side haven’t had their troubles to seek on the injury front this season with Martin Boyle ruled out for the remainder of the campaign after tearing his ACL in October, Kevin Nisbet only returning from 10 months out with a similar injury in December and Kyle Magennis, Jake Doyle-Hayes, Rocky Bushiri and Harry McKirdy all spending extended spells out.McGeady missed five months of the campaign with a knee injury before making his first Premiership appearance for the club in December’s 3-2 defeat to Rangers at Ibrox.
But the former Celtic star’s influence since returning to full fitness has been clear with Hibs on their best run for well over a year having gone six league games unbeaten to drive into fourth position in the table.
