An African prince who left his royal life behind to fix leaks in Britain has launched a charity to help people get clean water back home.
Akeem Adenuga, 63, comes from near Lagos in Nigeria in West Africa, where his brother, King Asunmo Aderibigbe, is The Paramount Ruler of Odo-Ayandelu.
He took a break in 1994 to study in the UK and fell in love with the country. The prince took a job as a trainee leakage technician at Thames Water in 2000 – and still works there.
The married dad of five now leads a team of 24 engineers who fix subterranean leaks across London. He is now hoping to give something back to his former African community.
