ABC’s Abbott Elementary, FX/Hulu’s The Bear and FX’s Reservation Dogs are making return engagements. They are joined by two four freshman series — Netflix’s Beef, Freevee’s Jury Duty, HBO’s The Last of Us and Peacock’s Poker Face — along with Apple TV+’s The Morning Show, Hulu’s Only Murders in the Building and HBO’s Succession.
Four of the AFI winners are third-year shows: Abbott Elementary, The Morning Show, Only Murders in the Building and the now-ended Reservation Dogs.
The Bear recently was renewed for Season 3, and Succession ended its Emmy-laden four-season run in May. The latter drama and Reservation Dogs are the only series on this year’s list that also made AFI’s 2021 Top 10.
