Aer Lingus has been forced to cancel several flights from Manchester Airport to Ireland today due to Storm Ashley which is battering parts of the UK and Ireland.
Services to both the Irish capital Dublin and Belfast in Northern Ireland have been cancelled. Amber and yellow weather warnings have been issued by the UK Met Office, covering Northern Ireland, Scotland, parts of north west England and areas of Wales.
Gusts of up to 70mph are forecast for some areas of Scotland and northern Ireland, with forecasters warning that disruption is likely.
In a statement on its website, Aer Lingus said: “We are aware of the impending arrival of Storm Ashley and potential travel disruption to/from Ireland on Sunday 20th October.
