Wigan trailed 6-4 at the break but produced a much-improved second-half performance in which they played with more energy, flair and confidence.
With such a vast number of changes, Lam admitted it would need time for that to become more prolonged, but said his side would benefit from playing with more confidence on the ball. "I knew it was going to be a tough game," he said. "We had seven different players coming into the team so when it's like that, what comes with that is the need to get some confidence.
