Adele Roberts has paid tribute to those affected by a horrific stabbing attack which occurred in her hometown of Southport.The stabbing at a property in the town on Monday saw eight people injured, including children, with one child reportedly dead after a knifeman targeted a Taylor Swift-themed children's workshop.The I’m a Celeb star and former BBC Radio 1 DJ Adele was brought up in the Merseyside town.
She took to social media to share her support to those affected by the horrific incident.The 45-year-old’s emotional post read: "Thinking of everyone affected by the tragic events in Southport today.
My heart is breaking for the families." Officers were called to a "major incident" at a property on Hart Street in Southport on Monday morning.
Armed police are said to have "detained a male and seized a knife" and there was "no wider threat to the public". Meanwhile, North West Ambulance Service (NWAS) said they had treated eight patients with stab injuries, a representative for the hospital saying: "The trust is working with other emergency services to respond to this incident and our emergency department is currently extremely busy." The MP for Southport, Patrick Hurley said: "I am deeply concerned by the reports coming from Merseyside Police about a major incident on Hart Street in the constituency.
