Someone Like You singer Adele has spoken out for the first time since cancelling her Las Vegas residency. Adele, 33, was set to start her string of gigs at Sin City on 21 January, but announced in a heartfelt video on social media that it “wasn’t ready ” just a day before what was supposed to be her opening night.
While Adele cited COVID complications being one of the main reasons for the show’s delay, there were reports that the singer cancelled the gigs because she was going through a rocky patch with boyfriend Rich Paul, whom she's thought to have been dating for six months.
In light of the backlash she received from disappointed fans who spent thousands of pounds on flights and tickets to go see the British songstress sing live, Adele has remained quiet on social media — until now.
Taking to Twitter on Tuesday 1 February, Adele announced that she’d be singing at the BRITs, and shut down rumours that she and Rich were going through any problems.
