Adam Thomas has hit out at rumours of a “fix” on Strictly Come Dancing this year as he denies he has an unfair advantage. The former Emmerdale star, 34, was announced as the eighth star joining the show on 8 August, but faced backlash after it emerged that his wife Caroline is a trained dancer who owns her own dance school.
Caroline, 32, founded the dance school, ABCD Dance in Altrincham, in 2021.Taking to his Instagram account, where he boasts more than a million followers, he said: “Well the news is finally out.” He added, “I do not know what I have gotten myself into as I cannot dance to save my life as you'll probably find out sooner or later.
But you know what, I have been wanting to do this show for so many years now and I cannot believe it is finally happening.” Seeming to address the speculation, he went on to say that he “cannot wait” to take to the dancefloor and “show you how I cannot dance to save my life.” Underneath the clip, Adam further reiterated the claim that he’s no twinkle-toes. “I’ve definitely got my work cut out,” he joked.
It’s not Adam’s first time on reality TV, as back in 2016 he won over audiences during a well received stint in the jungle. Adam, who is the brother of former Love Island contestant Scott Thomas, made it all the way to the final of I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!
