A busy road at the centre of numerous accidents in Grangemouth is to be upgraded to include a roundabout and new signage. Locals have called for safety measures to be implemented at the Beancross junction, which has been labelled an 'accident hotspot'.

A 77-year-old woman was killed after a two-car smash at the junction last Tuesday. A petition - which has gathered thousands of signatures - was then set up urging Falkirk Council to look at what could be done to make the road safer for motorists.
