A Walk to Remember is getting a reboot! The 2002 movie, which starred Mandy Moore and Shane West, was based on one of acclaimed author Nicholas Sparks‘ best-selling novels.
The original film still has a cult following to this day, and it’ll now be reintroduced to a new generation with a new movie that will be created with assistance from members of the original creative team. Keep reading to find out more… According to reporting by Deadline, Monarch Media lined up the rights to work on the new movie.
Producers Denise Di Novi and Hunt Lowry are returning for the new movie after working on the previous. Steve Barnett is also working on the production and was involved in the original production.
He opened up about the new movie in a statement shared with the outlet. “A Walk to Remember has endured as a beloved coming-of-age drama, captivating audiences with its heartfelt story of young love, personal growth and the power of faith for decades,” he said. “We could not be more excited to bring a new version of Nicholas Sparks’ timeless story to audiences and are particularly thrilled to work alongside the original film’s producers, Denise and Hunt.” At this point, no casting decisions have been made.
