Manchester United have been slammed by the manager of Crawley Town after news emerged that D'Mani Mellor's proposed loan move to the club was on the verge of collapsing.
The Manchester Evening News reported on Monday morning that academy striker Mellor was set to join the League Two side for the remainder of the season.
Mellor, 21, joined Salford City on loan last August but saw his time at the Peninsula Stadium hampered by injury early on. He only made three appearances for the League Two side, including one on the day he signed, with his final outing for the club coming earlier this month.
After his Salford spell was terminated, Crawley were identified as favourites for his signature until the end of the season, but it looks like a move is now off.
