A popular plant-based, fast-food restaurant is set to make its northern debut in Manchester later this month. Already well established in London and Brighton, The Vurger Co.

will open in the heart of Manchester's Northern Quarter on April 23. The concept is driven by a mission to revolutionise fast-food through the power of plants, and diners can expect dishes using only 100 per cent plant-based and ethically sourced products.

Taking this mission one step further, all packaging used is made from plants and is fully compostable, with a guarantee that nothing goes to landfill.

The stars of the plant-based show include burgers such as the New York Melt, encompassing a Beyond Meat patty topped with double vegan cheese, gherkins, tomato and house-made burger sauce, and Buffalo Vurger, a crispy 'chicken' patty dipped with buffalo hot sauce, topped with vegan mozzarella, gherkins, crispy onions and house-made baconnaise.
