A tapas restaurant went viral on Facebook after someone made off with a huge heart-shaped balloon which had been tied outside for Valentine's Day.

The Chia tapas restaurant in Lymm had been bustling for the special evening as couples enjoyed a romantic dinner together. Towards the end of the night owner Enrico Goksu was told by diners at other venues that the enormous heart-shaped balloon outside had been pinched.

After checking the CCTV footage, Enrico saw someone walk by, untie the balloon, and make off with it. A man and a woman can be seen approaching the restaurant shortly before midnight before the man takes the balloon.

Enrico was perplexed and amused that someone would steal such an unusual item. "It was a massive balloon, it was at least six feet wide," Enrico, 20, told the Manchester Evening News. "The funny bit is that you stole something that's so large, there's no hiding it." This proved true after the balloon was later spotted tie to a barge, which has reportedly since sailed away.
