drink-driving for a fourth time. Dr Mark Banks, who worked at the Royal Liverpool Hospital, appeared before a hearing of the Medical Practitioners Tribunal Service (MPTS) for the two incidents, as well as another occasion when he refused to refer a patient to the Mental Health Crisis Team.
Dr Banks, who also works as a medical officer for the British Boxing Board of Control, had been more than double the drink drive limit on three out of his four convictions, the tribunal heard.
The MPTS which rules on cases brought by the General Medical Council (GMC), imposed conditions on his licence to practice as a doctor instead of striking him off the medical register or suspending him, Liverpool Echo reported.
