A cycling trip has ended with a family fortune of more than £500 for charity.The Smiths, from Broomlands in Dumfries, embarked on May fitness sessions which eventually totalled more than 700 miles.And that equates to pedalling from Dumfries to Land’s End - plus another 200 miles back towards the town.Mum Joanne and husband Craig took part in the fundraiser with their children; Abigail, aged six, and Wallace, who turned five last weekend.Joanne said: “Because of the current situation and people being furloughed or out of work we initially set a target of £100 which would be great and for Alzheimer Scotland because Craig’s nana has dementia.“But donations have been pouring in and there has been a few in the last couple of weeks which takes.
