9,533 new Scots Covid cases as hospital patient numbers in Ayrshire hit 13-month high

A further 9,533 cases of coronavirus have been reported in Scotland — including 873 in Ayrshire. Data published by the Scottish Government and Public Health Scotland show there are currently 2,128 patients with Covid in Scottish hospitals, which is up 78 from Friday.There are currently 31 people being treated with the disease in ICUs across the nation.No new deaths from the have been recorded within the last 24 hours, meaning the nation's Covid death toll remains at 11,126.However, 13,563 deaths had been registered up to Sunday, March 13 where the disease was mentioned on the death certificate.

Meanwhile, there are 168 patients with Covid in Ayrshire hospitals — up 18 from Friday.
