7th Heaven actor Jeremy London comes to the defense of Stephen Collins in Hollywood Demons, an Investigation Discovery series premiering Monday that promises to “focus on different scandals and tragedies” in Tinseltown.
The first episode of the six-episode series focuses on Collins, who admitted back in 2014 that he sexually assaulted three underaged girls but was never charged.
London, who played a minister on the drama that aired on the WB and CW from 1996 to 2007, spoke to ID about his memories working with the actor. “What I noticed about Stephen Collins working with young girls and extras is that I never noticed a damn thing about Stephen Collins working with young girls and extras,” said London. “He never crossed any lines of any kind.” London joined 7th Heaven for the seventh and eighth seasons to play Chandler Hampton, a young minister who temporarily fills in for Collins’ Reverend Eric Camden. “Stephen Collins was most certainly America’s dad,” London says in the ID episode. “I mean I wanted him to be my dad.
I still want him to be my dad … whatever, something happened, I don’t know what happened. You’re messing with somebody I love and care about, and to see anybody messing with him, it still makes my blood boil.” Last year, 7th Heaven stars Beverley Mitchell, David Gallagher and Mackenzie Rosman launched a rewatch podcast Catching Up with the Camdens.
