Cunning thieves made off with a 6ft Santa from a charity light display in a Scots village. Locals have been left 'saddened' and 'appalled' by the theft of the light-up Father Christmas.
The missing statue stands 6ft tall and 4ft wide, and was nicked from Belhelvie, Aberdeenshire, between 10pm on Sunday December 5 and 7am on Monday December 6.Police said the big Santa had flashing lights which made it appear as though he was waving.
PC Murray, who is the enquiry officer, said: “It was part of a charity light display and it was made and donated by a local resident to the village.“The theft has had a big impact on the village who are totally appalled and saddened by the incident.“I would appeal if anyone has any information regarding the theft
