Celtic are set for a bumper end to the transfer window – and it looks set to go beyond the imminent arrivals of Auston Trusty and Arne Engles.
Brendan Rodgers teased a “number of transactions” in the final hours of the window with the exit of Engels from Augsburg – a club record recruit – and Trusty from Sheffield United all-but confirmed by their respective bosses with the deadline fast-approaching.
Boss at the Bundesliga outfit Jess Thorup admitted earlier today the £11m move was taken out of his hands, telling Sky Germany : "It's great how Arne has developed.
I don't think I made the final decision, it's up to the club and the player when you get an offer like that. As a coach, you sometimes have to live with it." Chris Wilder also confirmed that US international Trusty is in the final stages of his Bramall Lane exit stating: "I believe Trusty's (having a) medical and final bits to Celtic.
