Taylor Alison Swift is an American singer-songwriter. She is known for narrative songs about her personal life, which have received widespread media coverage. At age 14, Swift became the youngest artist signed by the Sony/ATV Music publishing house and, at 15, she signed her first record deal.
Her 2006 eponymous debut album was the longest-charting album of the 2000s in the US. Its third single, "Our Song", made her the youngest person to single-handedly write and perform a number-one song on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart. Swift's second album, Fearless, was released in 2008.
Buoyed by the pop crossover success of the singles "Love Story" and "You Belong with Me", it became the US' best-selling album of 2009 and was certified diamond in the US. The album won four Grammy Awards, and Swift became the youngest Album of the Year winner.
£30k campaign to change Adrian's life
dailyrecord.co.ukA campaign has been launched to raise £30,000 to help a West Lothian teenager receive life-changing medical treatment.Adrian Korytkowski (15) from Broxburn was born with cerebral palsy, and now his family are raising money to fund treatment that could allow him to walk and live independently.The revolutionary treatment could help Adrian stand and walk without the support of a wheelchair, with intensive physiotherapy and an internal pump for a drug called Baclofen.Baclofen is a skeletal muscle relaxant that could allow Adrian to walk, when coupled with physical therapy at the Paley European Institute in Warsaw, Poland.The West Lothian Courier previously reported the inspirational story of local girl Ella Green who was born unable to walk because of arthrogryposis.She took her first steps in time for Christmas last year thanks to surgery and physiotherapy at the Paley European Institute.Adrian is described by his family as a ‘wonderful smiling boy’ who enjoys physics and maths.He was born at 29 weeks with cerebral palsy, causing paralysis in his legs requiring a wheelchair and a hearing loss problem needing hearing aids.The cost of the implementation of a Baclofen pump is £20,000, in addition to intensive physiotherapy at the Institute in Poland and the costs of travel and accommodation for the duration of the therapy.Adrian’s family are hoping to raise £30,000 in total, and so far have raised £920 in just one week.The family hope to leave for the treatment in Poland before the end of this year.Adrian and his family hope he will be able to walk and live a ‘normal life’ following the treatment.Mum Anita, said: “We heard about the European Paley Institute from the media as local doctors weren’t able to treat Adrian.“My son
