While details of the series’ plot have yet to be finalised, Variety reports that it is shaping up to be a prequel to the original 2006 movie.The film’s director Zack Snyder is also reportedly in talks to direct and executive produce alongside his wife Deborah Snyder, who also produced the original film.At the time of writing, no writers and actors have been attached to the project.
When Variety reached out to Warner Bros. for confirmation on the series, the studio declined to comment.Based on Frank Miller and Lynn Varley’s celebrated graphic novel of the same name, 300 centers around King Leonidas (Gerard Butler), who leads an outnumbered force of 300 Spartans into battle against the 300,000-soldier army of Persia’s Xerxes I (Rodrigo Santoro).
The film also starred Lena Headey, David Wenham, and Dominic West among others.The film spawned a sequel in 2014 titled 300: Rise of An Empire.
