Another Sundance is in the books, and awards season is in full swing, with all of the major ceremonies having announced their nominees.

Looking ahead, February is a bit of a mixed bag in terms of releases, ranging from smaller, independent films to bigger-budget productions trying to get people into the theater regardless of season.

From horror to science fiction, there are action-heavy films on the docket. Of course, the most significant release in terms of the studio is Marvel’s 35th film, “Captain America: Brave New World.” There’s also a Valentine’s Day-themed horror film, along with the latest from Osgood Perkins, and some tense race-against-the-clock thrillers for those looking for an adrenaline rush.
