The trials and tribulations of former child stars have been well documented over the years - from Drew Barrymore's spiral into drug addition to the many troubles of Mischa Barton and Lindsay Lohan.

But one ex-Disney star has managed to forge her own path after years of living under the global conglomerate's cosh: Miley Cyrus, who was catapulted to fame as an 11-year-old girl in 2006 as Hannah Montana.

Miley, now 27, shocked her tweenage fanbase in 2010 when she drastically overhauled her public image, starting with the sexually charged Can't Be Tamed music video, featuring her writhing around with male and female dancers.
