What finally listening to my mother-in-law taught me about style

After having my son, my body shape changed. I was tired, anaemic, and all the neutral colours and black I wore pre-pregnancy, for my work life, just drained me.

I looked like death warmed up. They didn’t lift my spirits, either. I felt drab.So when my mother-in-law came to visit and gave me a gift of a bright green scarf, and said, “Anita, you really should wear more colour,” I thought, you know what, I’m going to give it a go.

I still opened my wardrobe and looked at a sea of black and soft, bland colours, but now I thought, “Bloody hell, this is so uninspiring.
