A waitress has had her ‘week made’ after being tipped a gig ticket to see one of her favourite bands. Katie Wood, 23, from York, was working her regular shift at Northern Soul Grilled Cheese in the Northern Quarter yesterday (February 16) when she was tipped a ticket to see The 1975 by an American family bowled over by her service.
The band who hail from Wilmslow are currently playing Manchester’s AO arena as part of their ‘Still… At Their Very Best’ tour with fans spotted queuing outside the venue more than 48 hours before they were due on stage earlier this week.
Describing the moment Katie was given the ticket, Dan Place, the owner of Northern Soul, said: “It was an American table and they were going to sell the ticket and then they gave it to Katie.
It was just such a classy touch off the table.
