A man was arrested after a violent fight at a Sainsbury's shop sent a worker to hospital and saw a woman slapped in the face.

Video shows a customer appearing to slap a security worker after he was dragged out of the store in Clapham in south London.

After the apparent attack on the security worker, the man is taken to the ground. A 48-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of assault and a racially aggravated public order offence, said a Met Police spokesperson.

The incident allegedly started at a self-checkout counter after a male customer was “abusive” to staff, according to a woman who works at the shop.
