UK coronavirus cases soar to 20,964 as deaths dip below 600 for second day

mirror.co.ukThe UK has recorded another 516 deaths in the past 24 hours, the second day running the number has been below 600. But new cases have soared to 20,964 - one of the highest daily totals of new infections recorded.
Today's daily figures from the Department of Health records deaths in all settings, including hospitals, care homes and the community.
There have been 113,651 cases of coronavirus recorded in the last seven days alone, and 2,986 deaths. Between March 2 and December 9, 2020, there have been 63,076 deaths within 28 days of a positive Coronavirus test.
