Bruno Fernandes

Bruno Miguel Borges Fernandes (born 8 September 1994) is a Portuguese footballer who plays for Primeira Liga club Sporting CP and the Portugal national team as a midfielder. Fernandes started his career at Serie B side Novara Calcio and soon featured for Udinese and Sampdoria in Serie A.

In 2017, he signed with Sporting CP where he established himself as one of the best players in the Primeira Liga. He was named the LPFP Primeira Liga Player of the Year in both 2017–18 and 2018–19. In the latter season, he also helped Sporting win the Taça de Portugal. A senior international since 2017, Fernandes represented Portugal at the 2016 Summer Olympics and 2018 FIFA World Cup.

Manchester City 's impressive 21 game winning streak in all competitions came to an end on Sunday when they were beaten 2-0 by rivals Manchester United at the Etihad.

A penalty from Bruno Fernandes and a second-half strike from Luke Shaw earned United all three points and the defeat saw City's massive lead at the top of the table drop to 11 points.

Pep Guardiola's side are the overwhelming favourites to win the Premier League this season and, barring a disastrous run of defeats, they will go on to lift the title.

If City are able to go on another winning run in their remaining ten Premier League fixtures then, assuming United match their run of results and the gap remains at 11 points, they will be able to wrap up the title when they face.
