Neil Lennon

Neil Francis Lennon (born 25 June 1971) is a Northern Irish football coach and former player who is the manager of Scottish Premiership club Celtic. During his playing career he represented English clubs Manchester City, Crewe Alexandra and Leicester City.

Lennon moved to Scottish club Celtic in 2000, where he made over 200 appearances and was appointed captain in 2005. Before retiring as a player, he returned to England and played for Nottingham Forest and Wycombe Wanderers. Lennon made 40 appearances for Northern Ireland in nine years, scoring two goals. Lennon was appointed manager of Celtic in March 2010, initially in a caretaker capacity after the departure of Tony Mowbray.

Leigh Griffiths can still produce some last-gasp heroics in a bid to rescue his Parkhead career. The 30-year-old has endured a torrid campaign that started on sour note when former boss Neil Lennon read him the riot act during pre-season over fitness concerns.

Griffiths has been a peripheral figure in a season to forget and his brief cameo against Rangers failing to lead to a redemption arc.Celtic have an option over whether or not to extend the Scotland international's deal beyond the end of the current campaign with a return to Hibs mooted.

But Provan reckons Eddie Howe or whoever takes the reins at Parkhead would be wise to at least ask Griffiths if he's capable of turning things around in Glasgow's east end.
