Jonas stepped out of the US in months recently and headed to an unlikely location. Even before one could guess, fans and fan clubs were buzzing with rumours that the actress was probably shooting for The Matrix 4 starring Keanu Reeves.

While the sequels might not have lived up to the original film creatively, “The Matrix” trilogy is still known as one of the most influential action films of the past two decades. After the first film was released, filmmakers from all genres took bits and pieces from what The Wachowskis did and copied it for their own films.

“The Matrix 4” is happening. After years of lying dormant, the franchise is coming back with Keanu Reeves, Carrie-Anne Moss, and filmmaker Lana Wachowski all returning to tell yet another new story in the sci-fi universe.

Somehow Yahya Abdul-Mateen II isn’t a household name yet, but, boy, that’s about to change. Despite portraying Black Manta in the blockbuster “Aquaman” along with roles in “The Greatest Showman” and “Us,” the New Orleans native was one of the more under the radar actors when Damon Lindelof’s “Watchmen” mini-series debuted last year.

Matrix franchise co-creator Lana Wachowski would be returning to write and direct a fourth installment of the series, fans couldn’t help but rejoice. And with Keanu Reeves and Carrie-Anne Moss set to reprise their roles as Neo and Trinity, it seems like all of our Matrix dreams were coming true. 2021 was poised to be the Year of Keanu. With not one but two major franchises releasing films starring Keanu Reeves in May 2021 (“The Matrix 4” and “John Wick 4,” respectively), the actor’s career was expected to become even bigger than it already is.

Filmmaker Chad Stahelski may be known for his work directing the “John Wick” franchise, but before that, he performed some of the best stunts in the “Matrix” trilogy as Keanu Reeves‘ stunt double in the first two films of the trilogy.
