Stewart Lee will be curating a stage at the first edition of the Brighton Psych Fest.Created by the minds behind the city’s leading independent promoter JOY and the team responsible for both Manchester Psych Fest and Edinburgh Psych Fest, a new Brighton edition of the music and arts festival will be headed to the UK coastal city later this summer.Set to take place on August 30, the one-day event spans across some of the most iconic music venues in Brighton, and promises to be a celebration of all things psychedelic.Already, two waves of acts have been announced for the 2024 debut, with artists including The Horrors, Holly Macve, NewDad, Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs, SCALER, bdrmm, Divorce, Molly Payton and more leading the way.Now, the team behind the event have also confirmed that a new stage has been added – fully curated by comedian and music lover Stewart Lee. The Horrors have announced details of an intimate London show and have teased there will be “new music very soon”.The band have not played live for two years, but in a social media post today (August 9), they have confirmed they will play The Shacklewell Arms on August 29.“It’s 19 years since we played our first show as the Horrors, almost to the day,” wrote frontman Faris Badwan. “It was August 8th 2005 when we performed at the Spread Eagle in Old Street, at a night Tom and I put on called “Cramped”.

The Horrors have announced a line-up change that will see them perform as a four-piece moving forward.The Southend band took to social media this afternoon (November 16) to inform fans that they would be rescheduling their upcoming Bristol and Manchester shows to 2022.“We are moving both our Bristol and Manchester shows to 2022,” the band’s tweet began. “Original tickets will be valid for the rescheduled dates and the promoters will be contacting all ticket holders with further information.

The Horrors have announced plans for another three track EP entitled ‘Against The Blade’.The record, which is released on November 5, follows their previous EP ‘Lout‘ which came out earlier this year.The band have also shared the title track from the new EP, which is steeped in the same brutal industrial sound as their previous record. The Horrors have announced they’ll headline a brief run of UK shows from late November.The band will play three shows as part of their ‘Metal Rain’ dates, kicking off at Bristol’s Marble Factory on November 25 and continuing on to Albert Hall in Manchester the following evening. They’ll wrap up at London’s Electric Ballroom on December 3.Supports on various shows will come from SCALPING, Giant Swan, PC World, DJ Proteus, Mandy and Indiana.
