India Jordan has announced they will begin performing and releasing music under the name I. JORDAN.JORDAN shared the news in an Instagram post yesterday (May 30), writing: “I’ve been really excited to share this as it’s felt heavy carrying around ‘India Jordan’ when it really doesn’t resonate with me anymore.

Fred again.. and India Jordan have teamed up on a brand new track – check out ‘Admit It (U Don’t Want 2)’ below.The new track follows Fred again…’s two albums from 2021 – April debut ‘Actual Life (April 14 – December 17 2020)’ and November’s follow-up ‘Actual Life 2 (February 2 – October 15 2021)’ – while Jordan released new EP ‘Watch Out!’ last spring.“The track started as a couple of stems from some old loops I had that I sent to Fred, last year – then I eventually went over to his a couple of times in December and we made the track together, accompanied by some lovely walks down the River Thames and lots of cups o’ tea,” Jordan said of the process of creating the track.

India Jordan has contributed a new song to a forthcoming compilation that will benefit LGBTQIA charities Mermaids and Human Dignity Trust.‘Celebrating Pride: For the Community, By the Community’ is a joint project organised by the Daytimers and Big Dyke Energy collectives. India Jordan has revealed that they’re working with their agent to help make live events more inclusive.Speaking to NME as part of this week’s Big Read interview, Jordan said they’ve been using these past 12 months in lockdown to consider their role in tackling structural racism and gender inequality at festivals.As clubs and festivals look slightly nearer to returning in some capacity, Jordan, who also works in Equality, Diversity and Inclusion at King’s College London university, is working with their agent draw up new contracts which will be used by an entire collective of DJ agencies in future.By using power in numbers, the pair hope to influence the ways that promoters run events, and in future, the collective will pass on line-ups
